Job summary

NOVEL PREP is seeking a part-time instructor to teach neuroscience to high school students, using Brain Facts as the core text and Brain Bee preparation as the focus. You will design a structured preparation plan, guide students through foundational topics, and lead practice sessions and mock competitions.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s or higher in a neuroscience-related field, possesses strong communication and planning skills, and is familiar with Brain Bee formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Neuroscience, Biology, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Biomedical Science, Medicine, or a closely related field.
• Strong knowledge of neuroscience, neuroanatomy, human physiology, and neurological disorders.
• Familiarity with Brain Bee competition structure and formats.
• Ability to teach advanced scientific concepts to high school students.

Responsibilities

• Teach core neuroscience concepts using Brain Facts as the primary textbook.
• Develop a structured preparation plan based on each student’s background and timeline.
• Familiarize students with Brain Bee rules, content areas, and question formats.
• Prepare students for written, oral, and game board-style questions and mock exams.
• Create study guides, practice questions, quizzes, and practice exams.
• Track progress and adjust instruction based on performance.
• Communicate progress and plans with the academic team.
