Job summary

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s or higher in neuroscience or related fields, have teaching or tutoring experience with teens, and can commit to after-school or weekend sessions, with remote options available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Neuroscience, Biology, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Biomedical Science, Medicine, or closely related field.
  • Strong knowledge of neuroscience, neuroanatomy, human physiology, and neurological disorders.
  • Familiarity with Brain Bee competition structure, content areas, and formats.
  • Ability to teach advanced scientific concepts clearly to high school students.

Responsibilities

  • Teach core neuroscience concepts using Brain Facts as the primary textbook.
  • Develop a structured preparation plan based on each student’s background and competition timeline.
  • Familiarize students with Brain Bee rules, content areas, and question formats.
  • Prepare students for written questions, oral or game-board Q&A, and clinical reasoning questions.
  • Create or select study guides, practice questions, quizzes, and mock exams.
  • Help students connect brain structures with functions and disorders.
  • Track student progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Coordinate with Novel Prep’s academic team on lesson plans and progress.
