Job summary

Blutic is seeking a Netezza Performance Engineer to optimize large-scale data warehouse workloads in a 24x7 environment. The role focuses on identifying bottlenecks, tuning SQL, and improving throughput using Netezza architecture on Linux/Unix systems.

Remote position in PST hours (8am–5pm). Requires 7+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to deliver reliable data platform performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Lead database performance engineering initiatives for Netezza environments in large-scale data warehouses.
Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries, ETL jobs, and stored procedures to achieve performance gains.
Identify bottlenecks related to CPU, memory, I/O, distribution, skew, and concurrency.
Collaborate with development, ETL, BI, and infra teams to improve SQL performance.

Responsibilities

Lead database performance engineering initiatives for Netezza environments supporting enterprise-scale data warehouse platforms.
Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries, ETL jobs, and stored procedures with performance improvements.
Identify bottlenecks related to CPU, memory, disk I/O, SPU distribution, skew, and concurrency issues.
Optimize database performance through table design, distribution keys, zone maps, partitioning strategies.
Monitor platform health and workload behavior, long-running queries with performance tools.
Document performance findings and optimization solutions for stakeholders.
