Job summary

SDH Systems LLC is seeking an experienced MySQL DBA for a 100% remote role. You will manage large-scale MySQL environments, handle performance tuning, replication, and HA/DR, and provide production support.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL, strong SQL skills, and expertise in backup/recovery, monitoring, and automation. You will collaborate with development teams to optimize queries and database design, while ensuring minimal downtime during upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support MySQL databases in production and non-production environments.
• Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.
• Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and availability.
• Perform SQL query and database performance tuning.
• Analyze slow queries, execution plans, locks, deadlocks, and resource utilization.
• Configure and troubleshoot MySQL Replication and high-availability environments.
• Manage backup and recovery using tools such as MySQL Enterprise Backup, XtraBackup, or equivalent.
• Perform database recovery and disaster-recovery activities.
• Troubleshoot database incidents and provide root-cause analysis.
• Manage users, roles, privileges, security, and access controls.
• Work with development teams to optimize SQL queries, indexes, stored procedures, and database design.
• Perform database upgrades, migrations, and version upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Develop monitoring, automation, and maintenance scripts.
