Job summary

Innodata India is seeking experienced professionals with a strong background in music for the Music Audio Captioning Specialist role. This remote, short-term project involves evaluating audio recordings, video clips, musical instruments, and other sound sources, and producing captions and summaries.

Candidates must have a Masters or PhD in music-related field, plus at least one year of experience in music or audio analysis.

Qualifications

Masters degree or PhD in Music, Audio Engineering, Linguistics, or related field.
Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience in music or audio analysis.
Strong understanding of music theory, vocals, pitch, tone, rhythm, and instrumentation.
Knowledge of pronunciation, accents, diction, and vocal expression.
Ability to analyze audio/video content and write detailed, accurate descriptions.
Experience in music evaluation, audio annotation, or vocal analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze audio recordings, video clips, instruments, and other media per project guidelines.
Write clear, accurate captions and detailed summaries of observations.
Evaluate musical elements such as notes, pitch, tone, melody, rhythm, tempo, and instrumentation.
Assess vocal characteristics, pronunciation, accent, emotional expression, and delivery.
Identify relevant sound sources, including music, speech, voices, instruments, and background sounds.
Answer auto-generated questions about audio and visual attributes.
Review annotations for accuracy, completeness, and quality before submission.
