Job summary

7Seventy is seeking a foundational QA professional focused on mortgage software quality. You will test end-to-end loan workflows, catch defects before customers do, and help shape release readiness as the first dedicated QA person on the team.

Embedded with Engineering and Product, you will own pre-release verification, define QA SOPs, and have the opportunity to grow into QA leadership while shaping how quality is built into every release.

Qualifications

• Mortgage operations experience such as processing, underwriting, closing, or QC and ability to spot data discrepancies.
• Hands-on experience with loan origination systems (Encompass, Empower, Byte).
• QA or software testing experience including manual design, exploratory testing, and release verification.
• Comfort with light test automation and willingness to create simple scripts with Playwright or Cypress.
• Strong attention to detail and clear written communication.

Responsibilities

• Test UIs and end-to-end loan workflows by simulating real mortgage scenarios.
• Find defects such as UI glitches, failed validations, and data reconciliation issues.
• Write clear, reproducible bug reports with steps, expected vs actual, and evidence.
• Build and maintain a regression suite combining manual tests with lightweight automation.
• Own pre-release verification and sign off on changes ready to ship.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product in reviews, sign-offs, and triage.
• Define QA SOPs, severity rubrics, release checklists, and quality metrics.
• Hire, train, and lead the QA team over time.
