Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate loans within an assigned metropolitan territory. You will take applications, perform preliminary underwriting reviews, and submit files for processing and underwriting while actively pursuing sales opportunities away from bank locations.

The role requires NMLS registration and compliance with SAFÉ Act regulations. Candidates may work remotely but must be able to work onsite three days per week if located near a bank location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically at least one year of mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking experience.
• Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in an assigned metropolitan territory.
• Take applications, conduct preliminary underwriting reviews, and submit loan applications for processing and underwriting.
• Follows up to ensure required documents are secured for processing, underwriting, and closing.
• Engage in sales-related activities away from U.S. Bank locations.
• Drive 2 or more hours per week.
