Job Description

The Homeland Security Solutions Operation is seeking a Mobile App Developer to provide technical expertise on a mission-critical program aimed at developing, modernizing, enhancing, operating, and maintaining services for DHS/CBP mission-critical systems. The role requires a strong mix of communication skills and hands-on technical troubleshooting to support application issues and implement preventative measures.

In this hands-on position, you will collaborate to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real-time systems. You will exercise judgment to determine and recommend the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines, and resource constraints. You will participate in and/or lead major project deliverables through all phases of the software development lifecycle, including scope estimation, architecture, design, coding, and unit testing. Expertise in Mobile App Development is essential.

Basic Responsibilities

• BS/BA degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or master's with 6+ years of relevant experience; or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree
• At least 5 years' experience in Mobile development (Android/iOS)
• Experience in both Front-end Mobile and Back-end RESTful API development
• Development experience with JAVA and Node.js applications
• Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases
• Strong application testing discipline
• Experience with Google's Flutter engine and Dart language, and similar Android/iOS frameworks
• Knowledge of Postgres, Spring Boot, SQL, Kafka, MySQL, Struts, Hibernate, Java, JSF, Swing, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Angular/React is desirable
• Understanding of software design patterns
• Experience with issue/problem tracking systems like Jira
• Proficiency with Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and best development practices
• Experience with DevOps frameworks
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start
