Job summary

LMI in Pittsburgh is seeking a Machine Learning Operations Engineer to advance Army AI/ML initiatives, integrating models into scalable applications and ensuring end-to-end lifecycle management of AI capabilities.

You will collaborate with Army stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop robust pipelines, and support cloud deployments with DevSecOps guidance. This role requires active clearance and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/DS/SE or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in machine learning engineering with emphasis on MLOps, model development and deployment.
• Experience with Pandas and PySpark for data manipulation and pipelines.
• Hands-on ML modeling using Scikit-Learn, MLlib, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
• Deploying AI/ML models in production web apps.
• Proficiency with Python and Python web frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI).
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, and Git.
• Active Secret Clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Build, train, validate, and evaluate ML models using Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or similar tools.
• Research, develop, and implement generative AI applications for real-world challenges.
• Deploy ML models to web-based applications and integrate them into operational environments.
• Operationalize generative AI systems with scalable pipelines across environments.
• Design data pipelines using Pandas and PySpark for training and analysis.
• Support ML-specific CI/CD pipelines for development and deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering and DevSecOps teams for scalable cloud deployments.
• Engage with Army stakeholders to identify opportunities and provide technical solutions.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to process improvements.
• Lead architecture discussions and drive ML capability growth.
• Build strong relationships with government customers and stakeholders.
