Job summary

Overstory is hiring an ML Engineering Manager to lead cross-functional teams of about 10 ML engineers and data scientists, focusing on data- and ML-driven product capabilities. You will guide technical direction, support hiring and growth, and partner with Product Managers to align long-term goals with business impact.

You’ll champion a collaborative culture, coach engineers, and contribute to strategy in a climate-tech startup environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building ML or data-driven systems.
• 3+ years leading and managing ML or data-focused teams.
• Demonstrated ability to guide technical decisions and coach engineers/data scientists.
• Experience collaborating with product, design and engineering leaders to deliver outcomes.
• Passion for climate action and technology’s role in addressing environmental challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple cross-functional teams of ML engineers and data scientists (~10 people).
• Set technical direction and ensure delivery outcomes for your domains.
• Grow teams by attracting, hiring and developing talent.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture and provide regular coaching.
