Contract School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program required.
  • Valid Minnesota State Speech-Language Pathologist license.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Identify students with communication impairments.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to assess the impact of communication impairments on student progress.
  • Develop and assist in implementing instructional and curricular modifications.
  • Provide communication development materials to educators and families. Participate in student IEP development and implementation.
  • Manage caseload interventions, including direct and indirect services, collaboration, screenings, evaluations, and materials preparation.
  • Maintain student records and performance data.
  • Supervise speech/language-trained para-educators and graduate students.
  • Mentor new speech/language pathologists.
  • Participate in building teams, committees, and projects related to speech and language services.
  • Provide in-service training to colleagues.
  • Complete all required Special Education documentation, including IEPs and Medicaid billing.
