Qualifications

• 5+ years in military, defense analysis, or IHL experience.
• Advanced degree or equivalent operational experience.
• Credible background in warfighting, planning, targeting law, or IHL.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in policy analysis or advisory roles in government or think tanks.
• Experience with conflict analysis or weapons-policy work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive taxonomies for military-use and defense operations across conflict contexts.
• Create dual-use triage frameworks distinguishing military vs. civilian applications.
• Define boundaries for prohibited assistance under IHL for AI training inputs.
• Design conflict-risk rubrics and scenario-based evaluation tools.
• Evaluate policy-relevant benchmarks for responsible testing in defense contexts.
• Produce written and verbal analyses of warfighting, targeting, and IHL concepts.
