Job summary

American Farmland Trust seeks a Mid-Atlantic Agricultural Resilience Associate to implement resilience projects across cropland in the Mid-Atlantic, collaborating with staff and partners to advance soil health, water quality, and farm viability. The role supports training, mentor networks, and regional coordination with a strong emphasis on outreach and program impact.

The position offers remote work flexibility within the Mid-Atlantic and requires travel across the region to fulfill project

Qualifications

• Must be outgoing and energetic with direct professional experience in agriculture in the Mid-Atlantic region.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with diverse partners.
• Proven ability to develop and implement multi-state programs and manage projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement projects related to agricultural resilience across the Mid-Atlantic.
• Coordinate multi-state, funder-supported projects on soil health, conservation, and farm viability.
• Support farmer networks, provide technical assistance coordination, and track progress and outcomes.
• Support fundraising and proposal development with budgets and work plans.
