Job summary

Leidos’ Power Delivery Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer, Microgrid Systems to serve as the Engineer of Record for complete microgrid designs. This hands-on role covers PV, BESS, generators, MV/LV distribution, protection and controls across multi‑vendor environments.

You will develop detailed deliverables and interconnection designs, coordinate protection schemes, and support permitting and interconnection applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus.
• 4–8 years of detailed electrical design and system integration experience (EOR-level preferred).
• Experience designing and integrating DER assets (PV, BESS, generators) into a single electrical system.
• MV/LV distribution design, protection coordination, and interconnection design experience.
• Knowledge of controls/SCADA interfaces related to electrical design (not primary focus).
• PE licensure preferred or ability to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engineer of Record for microgrid electrical designs across PV, BESS, generation and distribution assets.
• Develop detailed electrical deliverables: diagrams, equipment specs, protection and coordination studies.
• Integrate MV/LV distribution with generation and storage assets to meet interconnection requirements.
• Coordinate protection schemes and controls/SCADA interfaces across vendors and disciplines.
• Lead technical reviews of EPC and OEM deliverables for client standards and performance.
• Interface with clients, EPCs and vendors to resolve design issues and ensure constructability.
• Support permitting, interconnection applications and utility coordination.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews for microgrid and DER projects.
