Job summary

Tiny Health is seeking a data scientist passionate about early-life gut health to join a remote-first contractor role of at least three months with potential to go FTE. You’ll collaborate with microbiome experts to analyze complex datasets and contribute to publications and product development.

You’ll develop novel metrics and biomarkers, perform longitudinal analyses, and communicate findings through visuals and reports, while thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in data science, computational biology, bioinformatics, or related field.
• 3+ years full-time experience after Master’s, or 0-1+ years with PhD.
• Strong statistics, ML, and data visualization.
• Proficient in R or Python; SQL and large datasets experience preferred.
• Experience with microbiome data analysis (16S, shotgun) desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Self-motivated, organized, remote-friendly.

Responsibilities

• Analyze microbiome data to support research questions.
• Develop and maintain microbiome metrics and biomarkers.
• Conduct longitudinal clinical data analyses.
• Prepare data visualizations, reports, and presentations.
• Draft research protocols and analysis plans.
• Work across multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Support development of new product and study concepts.
• Contribute to publications and proposals.
