Job summary

SPMI LLC is seeking independent Mental Performance Consultants to join as remote, non-exclusive contractors serving athletes across the United States. The role emphasizes long-term relationships, professional development, and high-quality mental performance training beyond one-off sessions.

Candidates hold a Master’s in Sport Psychology or related field, can work virtually, and will conduct individual or group sessions with flexible evenings.

Qualifications

• Hold a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology, Performance Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Comfortable working with athletes from different sports, ages, and levels.
• Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and client-safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual mental performance training to athletes across sports and levels.
• Help athletes develop confidence, focus, preparation, emotional control, resilience, and consistency.
• Conduct remote individual sessions and, when applicable, team or group sessions.
• Communicate professionally with athletes and parents/guardians as needed.
• Maintain session notes, attendance records, and progress documentation.
• Use SPMI-approved systems for communication, scheduling, and videoconferencing.
• Participate in onboarding, training, and quality-review activities as required.
• Refer or escalate cases outside the consultant’s scope according to procedures.
