Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Patient Medication Liaison – Medication Adherence team. The role focuses on ensuring patients stay adherent to their medications and coordinating refills with Mizzou Pharmacy locations.

You will work closely with patients, physicians, and pharmacy staff to streamline prior authorizations, synchronize prescription fills and improve the patient experience in a collaborative care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Conduct prospective medication prior authorization services to expedite clinic and discharge workflow.
• Coordinate refill and prescription renewal requests and screen patients for viable payment sources.
• Facilitate effective communication between clinics, hospitals, patients, and pharmacies.
• Identify and refer patients to medication assistance programs.
• Perform duties of a pharmacy technician and other duties as assigned.
• Complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
