Job summary

Rasmussen University is seeking an Online Adjunct Instructor for Medical Terminology to teach a basic medical vocabulary-building course with focus on prefixes, suffixes, Latin/Greek roots, and body systems.

The role requires communication with students, coordination with the Academic Dean, and adherence to faculty expectations. Remote position with compensation details provided for part-time adjunct instructors.

Qualifications

• Teaching experience preferred (Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of study)
• Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers
• Excellent written communication and strong verbal communication skills in the English language
• Online adjuncts will need regular access to a computer with system requirements (Windows XP or greater, Microsoft Office 2010, internet)

Responsibilities

• Communicate with students and supervise Deans or other University staff related to teaching and learning
• Be available for students via phone, email and for individual appointments as needed
• Respond to Dean/University staff in regards to performance, student issues/concerns, or items needed for faculty file/accreditation needs
• Professional conduct and appropriate behavior at all times
• Attend events, programmatic meetings, and committee work as agreed upon by the Dean
• Complete a minimum of six Rasmussen Educational Units (REUs) annually or two REUs per quarter for each quarter you teach
