Job summary

Abbott Point of Care is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to serve as the scientific expert for point-of-care diagnostics. Based remotely near a major eastern US airport, you will build trusted relationships with KOLs and healthcare organizations, lead scientific discussions, and advance understanding of i-STAT system data across the healthcare community.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years in clinical/medical affairs, preferably in medical device.
• Understanding of the clinical laboratory, assay/instrument principles for in vitro diagnostic product design and regulatory requirements.
• Bachelor’s Degree; 75% travel.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with national and regional KOLs, healthcare providers, and academic centers.
• Lead scientific discussions and deliver clinical education on Abbott Point of Care products and relevant therapeutic areas.
• Support research collaborations, publications, advisory boards, and scientific exchange initiatives.
• Serve as a trusted scientific resource for external experts, healthcare organizations, and internal stakeholders.
• Present scientific and clinical data at meetings, congresses, and educational events.
• Gather and share medical insights from the field to help shape strategic priorities and initiatives.
• Support medical information requests and provide scientific guidance on product data and clinical evidence.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to develop scientific materials and educational programs.
• Represent Medical Affairs at national conferences and scientific meetings.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout a multi-state territory.
