Humana is seeking a Medical Records Retrieval Specialist to perform QA audits of medical records and ICD-9/10 codes for CMS and other government agencies. This remote role involves field work near Smyth County, VA, with travel to provider offices as needed, reporting to the Risk Adjustment Supervisor.

You will securely retrieve, review, and validate records, ensuring accuracy, signatures, and proper documentation while adhering to HIPAA and internal standards.

Qualificações

• 1+ year in customer service.
• 1+ year handling medical records.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 apps (Teams/Outlook).
• Experience managing high‑volume workloads.
• Strong communication with peers and partners.
• Healthcare/managed care exposure preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Accurately collect, validate, and reconcile medical records.
• Upload verified docs to the centralized repository with data integrity.
• Follow HIPAA and internal policies in handling PHI.
• Apply procedures to complete assignments accurately and efficiently.
• Use company tech (laptops, scanners, encrypted devices) to manage records.
• Proactively contact physician offices to obtain records and meet deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard PHI at all times.
• Manage high‑volume workload independently while meeting SLAs.
