Job summary

BayCare in Florida seeks a Medical Records Coder II to work remotely on a PRN basis. The role requires coding inpatient and outpatient encounters using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT-4, with flexibility on days (Tue-Sat or Sun-Thu).

Must reside in Florida and be able to work from home with non-benefit eligibility. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of coding experience, prefer CCS or RHIT certifications, and will mentor Coder I staff and clinical practice students while supporting

Qualifications

• 2 years of Coding experience
• CCS and/or RHIT preferred
• Required high school diploma; associate degree preferred in HIM

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4 coding systems and monitor bill hold reports.
• Assist Manager/Director with mentoring/training of Coder I team members and clinical practice students from various colleges.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
