Job summary

Stratus Video is seeking a freelance Medical Over-the-Phone Interpreter to support LEP community members and healthcare providers across various settings. Most calls are medical in nature, with remote, work-from-home flexibility for candidates in the United States.

The role requires completion of a medical terminology-focused language assessment, fluent bilingual interpretation (e.g., Pohnpeian-English), at least two years of medical interpreting, and familiarity with HIPAA and ethics.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a language assessment focusing on interpreter protocols and medical terminology.
• Fluent in source and target language (e.g., Pohnpeian-English).
• Minimum 2 years of audio medical interpreting experience.
• Certification or training in medical interpreting is preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy laws.
