Job description

We are sharing a specialised freelance opportunity for experienced U.S.-based dermatologists to contribute to advanced medical AI evaluation through clinical-content review, dermatological image assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and structured expert feedback.

Selected professionals will evaluate AI-generated medical content for dermatological accuracy, completeness, safety, and clinical relevance while also reviewing dermatology images through a structured online evaluation platform. The work combines clinical judgement, visual assessment, and evidence-based dermatology expertise.

Key Responsibilities
Dermatology Content Evaluation
  • Review AI-generated dermatology content for clinical accuracy
  • Assess outputs for completeness, safety, and relevance
  • Identify potentially harmful or misleading medical information
  • Evaluate clinical reasoning against evidence-based dermatology standards
  • Provide structured feedback supporting model improvement
Clinical Reasoning & Case Review
  • Evaluate proposed diagnoses for dermatological cases
  • Review treatment plans for clinical appropriateness
  • Assess medical summaries for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify unsupported assumptions or missing clinical considerations
  • Document expert rationale for evaluation decisions
Dermatological Image Assessment
  • Review dermatology images using a structured online evaluation tool
  • Assess image quality and diagnostic usability
  • Identify blur, lighting, exposure, colour, or framing concerns
  • Determine whether visual information is sufficient for clinical interpretation
  • Apply strong visual attention to subtle image-quality differences
Diagnostic Image Interpretation
  • Identify likely skin conditions where appropriate
  • Assign confidence ratings to image-based assessments
  • Document concise clinical reasoning supporting conclusions
  • Distinguish uncertain findings from higher-confidence interpretations
  • Follow established guidelines for structured image evaluation
Research & Quality Collaboration
  • Collaborate with research teams and clinical contributors
  • Help align evaluations with evidence-based dermatology practice
  • Complete structured questionnaires accurately and consistently
  • Apply evaluation guidelines across repeated medical-review tasks
  • Contribute expert insight to improving medical AI quality and safety
Ideal Profile
  • Based in the United States
  • Licensed Medical Doctor (MD, MBBS, or equivalent qualification)
  • Specialisation in Dermatology or an equivalent dermatological qualification
  • Fully licensed and actively practising medicine in the United States
  • Minimum 5 years of post-residency dermatology experience
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning capabilities
  • Excellent visual attention to detail
  • Comfortable reviewing sensitive or graphic medical imagery
  • Able to assess diagnoses, treatment plans, and medical summaries critically
  • Comfortable working with web-based annotation and evaluation platforms
  • Able to use image zoom and related review tools effectively
  • Strong ability to follow detailed clinical-evaluation guidelines
  • Able to complete structured questionnaires accurately
  • Medical content review or clinical research experience is advantageous
  • Previous annotation or AI/ML evaluation experience is preferred but not required
Engagement Details
  • Independent contractor / freelance engagement
  • Remote — United States only
  • Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling with work completed at your own pace
  • Initial project duration of approximately 12 weeks
  • No medical or paid-leave benefits are included under the contractor arrangement
  • Work includes both medical-content evaluation and dermatological image review
  • Contributors may assess diagnostic accuracy, treatment reasoning, summaries, image quality, and diagnostic usability
  • Structured online evaluation tools and questionnaires will be used
  • Sensitive or graphic dermatological imagery may be included in project materials
  • Work must be completed without using confidential, proprietary, patient-identifiable, protected health, unpublished clinical, or otherwise restricted information belonging to any patient, employer, healthcare organisation, research institution, client, or other third party
