Job summary

EviCore, part of Evernorth Health Services, a division of The Cigna Group, seeks a Medical Director with Maternal-Fetal Medicine expertise to perform evidence-based medical reviews that guide patient care. Remote work supports collaboration with a large network of physicians and ongoing professional growth.

You will handle specialized case reviews, engage in peer-to-peer discussions, and propose alternative options as needed while staying current with regulations and industry developments.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with active U.S. medical license and MFM board certification.
• Eligible for additional state licensure.
• 3+ years of relevant clinical experience after residency/fellowship.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and standards is a plus.
• Ability to work a fixed weekly schedule.
• Strong computer skills and typing ability.
• Willingness to work from home with encrypted workstation.

Responsibilities

• Complete time-sensitive, specialized reviews for medical necessity on EviCore’s case management software.
• Conduct peer-to-peer physician consultations to discuss medical necessity and appropriateness of services.
• Recommend alternative services or treatments when appropriate.
• Collaborate with 500+ EviCore physician colleagues to ensure evidence-based patient care.
