Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT/HCPCS procedures to patient encounters, ensuring documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.

You will review medical records, support coding audits, and maintain productive coding records while using encoders and EHR systems. The role requires 3–5 years of coding experience and a Certified Professional Coder (AAPC) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Assign ICD-10 dx codes and CPT/HCPCS procedure codes.
• Ensure compliance with AMA, CMS and other guidelines.
• 3–5 years of medical coding experience.
• Strong analytical and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT/HCPCS procedure codes to patient encounters based on documentation.
• Maintain compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory bodies.
• Analyze medical records to extract pertinent information for coding.
• Maintain accurate coding records, track productivity and accuracy.
• Use coding software, encoders, and EHR systems to support coding.
• Participate in coding audits and documentation improvement initiatives.
• Support internal coding reviews and issue resolution.
