Job summary

Humana is seeking a Medical Coding Coordinator to extract clinical data from records and assign ICD-10-CM/CPT codes. The role analyzes data, responds to internal requests, and applies judgment to administrative tasks with limited guidance.

Remote position nationwide in the United States with standard business hours and opportunities for training. Applicants should have CPC certification and Medicare/Medicaid coding experience, with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Coding certification required: AAPC CPC (no Apprentice).
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Certified Medical Coder.
• Ability to solve complex coding issues.
• Experience with Medicare and Medicaid coding guidelines.
• Strong data entry and multitasking with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Preferred: CPMA certification.
• MS-DRG or APR auditing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Extracts clinical information from medical records and assigns appropriate codes (ICD-10-CM, CPT).
• Analyzes, enters and manipulates databases; responds to internal requests for medical information.
• Prioritizes requests and interprets/adapts procedures with limited guidance.
