Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc. seeks a billing specialist to code, process charges, and coordinate professional service billings for select clinical departments. Remote work is limited to MCW payroll states; Madison campus is typical.

Responsibilities include CPT/ICD-10 coding, charge entry, reconciliation, denial resolution, and liaison with physicians and administrators. Requires CPC/CCS-P/CCA or RHIT/RHIA certification and at least 2 years of coding/healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPC, CCS-P, CCA and/or RHIT/RHIA certifications preferred.
• 2+ years of related coding and/or health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Charge processing: CPT/ICD-10 coding with modifiers per documentation.
• Charge entry and reconciliation of charges.
• Identify and resolve claim denials and billing issues.
• Collaborate with physicians and administrators; educate providers on coding policies.
• Develop and maintain billing protocols and participate in provider orientations.
