- Ensure coding assignments are compliant with federal and state regulations, including NCCI edits, LCD/NCD guidance, and payer-specific rules.
- Collaborate with providers to provide feedback and education on documentation improvements to support coding accuracy and medical necessity.
- Perform audits on coded encounters to assess quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for pro-fee coding questions, including E/M leveling, surgical coding, and telehealth regulations.
- Analyze coding denial trends and work with billing and revenue integrity teams to resolve recurring issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding updates, payer policies, and CMS regulatory changes.
- Participate in coding team meetings, continuing education, and training for new specialties or systems.
- Support onboarding and mentoring of junior coders as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 5–7 years of professional fee coding experience, preferably across multiple specialties such as primary care, cardiology, surgery, and behavioral health.
- Experience in E/M leveling (1995/1997 and 2021 AMA Guidelines) and procedural coding.
- Prior auditing, education, or compliance experience is a strong plus.
- Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting clinical documentation.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and coding encoder tools.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred.
- Required Certification: CPC, CCS-P, or equivalent professional services coding certification (AAPC or AHIMA).

- Competitive pay with ample opportunities for professional growth.
- Fully remote position with a stable Monday–Friday schedule.
- Collaborative, performance-driven environment with expert leadership.
- Mission-driven work supporting essential healthcare services.
- Recognition as a nationally respected leader in healthcare revenue management.
