Job summary

Posterity Group LLC is staffing The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center with a Medical Coder. The role requires 3+ years of experience, knowledge of Cerner/Oracle, and active coding credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC or equivalent).

Responsibilities include attaching images to EHR elements, verifying image quality, locating FINs, indexing records by section and date, and performing 100% QA before submission. Strong data entry and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical clinics and clinical documentation.
• Ability to locate FINs and link documents to veteran records in Cerner/Oracle.
• Ability to index documents by section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• Ability to verify that images are uploaded correctly and are legible.
• Data entry skills with high accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Experience with Cerner/Oracle or comparable EHR systems preferred.
• Active coding credential required.
• Prior VA or federal healthcare coding experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

We are tasked with staffing The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center with Medical Coders. The Medical Coder is expected to do the following:

• Accurately attaching images to the appropriate electronic health record elements.
• Verifying that images are uploaded correctly and are legible for viewing.
• Locating Financial Identification Numbers (FINs) and accurately linking documents to the correct veteran record.
• Indexing documents within the correct section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• Performing 100% internal QA on all work before submission.

Requirements

• Knowledge and understanding of medical clinics and clinical documentation.

Salary Description

$18.90/hr - $25.75/hr
