Qualifications

• Working knowledge of state, federal, and third-party claims processing required.
• Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient documentation and charts for claim submission; updates and maintains billing data.
• Reviews patient charts for completeness and contacts staff for clarification.
• Enters charges, processes, and submits insurance claims to third party payers; verifies initial claim acceptance.
• Reviews reports for claim denials and communicates trends to management.
• Maintains current billing, coding, and SOP files as desk reference.
