Job summary

Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) is seeking a Billing Specialist for a remote role in Southern Nevada. You will submit patient claims to third party payers, review documentation for completeness, and resolve routine billing inquiries while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and the US Oncology standards.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of medical billing experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and knowledge of payer rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years medical billing and payment experience.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Knowledge of state, federal, and third-party claims processing.
• Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient documentation and charts for claim submission.
• Reviews patient charts for completeness and clarifications with clinical staff.
• Enter charges and submit insurance claims to third party payer.
• Verify initial claim acceptance by payers and review denials.
• Identify payer trends, denial patterns, and delays to management.
• Maintain current billing, coding, and SOP files as desk references.
• Perform other duties as requested; may perform payment responsibilities.
