Job summary

BruntWork is seeking a meticulous Medical Biller to join our healthcare team on a night shift. You will process patient data, submit and track insurance claims, verify coverage, and ensure timely payment for services.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of US medical billing experience or billing experience in a medical practice, and must be able to work remotely with reliable backup power and internet. Immediate hiring and permanent work-from-home perks are offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Post insurance company payments and/or responses into the various systems (electronic, ERA, or paper EOB).
• Daily checks on pending amounts due from carriers and act accordingly.
• Review codes of partial and full denials, use carrier portals or calls for clarification, resubmission and reconsideration with justification.
• Prepare appeals for reimbursement team.
• Report issues to reimbursement team promptly.
• Identify specific patients with denials, determine reasons, and propose fixes.
• Check no-response claims with carriers per predefined dates.
• Prepare amounts outstanding and key issues for the reimbursement team.
• Follow up on appeals and claims for reconsideration.
• Attend daily and weekly reimbursement team meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
