Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist for a remote, nationwide role. You will review and submit claims, verify CPT/ICD-10 coding, and resolve denials to support timely reimbursement and compliance.

Collaborate with coding and registration teams, stay current with HIPAA and payer guidelines, and help reduce healthcare administrative costs for federal agencies, payers, and providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS and billing standards.
• Experience with Epic, Meditech, NextGen EHR systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Review and process claims for services rendered to ensure accurate billing to insurance payers and patients.
• Verify accuracy of billing information, including CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and demographics.
• Submit primary and secondary claims electronically or via paper.
• Resolve claim rejections and errors by correcting and resubmitting promptly.
• Monitor unpaid or delayed claims; follow up or re-bill as necessary.
• Collaborate with coding, registration, and clinical teams to resolve billing issues.
• Generate claims and statements as dictated by scope.
• Respond to billing inquiries professionally and promptly.
• Stay current with billing regulations, payer requirements, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Meet department productivity, accuracy, and quality benchmarks.
