Signature Performance, Inc. remote-based Medical Billing Specialist role is open to applicants nationwide, offering flexibility and growth. You will review and submit claims, verify CPT/ICD-10 codes, and collaborate across teams to ensure accurate, timely payments.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in medical billing, familiarity with Epic/Meditech/NextGen, and strong attention to detail while upholding HIPAA compliance. This position supports our mission of efficient healthcare administration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding and claim submission standards.
• Proficient in billing software and one or more EHR systems (Epic, Meditech, NextGen).
• Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Review and process claims for services rendered to ensure accurate billing to insurance payers and patients.
• Verify accuracy of billing information, including CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and patient demographics.
• Submit primary and secondary claims electronically or via paper, as required.
• Resolve claim rejections and errors by correcting and resubmitting in a timely manner.
• Monitor unpaid or delayed claims; initiate follow-up or re-bill as necessary.
• Collaborate with coding, registration, and clinical teams to resolve billing issues or obtain missing information.
• Generate claims and statements as dictated by scope.
• Respond to billing inquiries professionally and promptly.
• Stay current with billing regulations, payer requirements, and compliance guidelines (e.g., HIPAA).
• Meet department productivity, accuracy, and quality benchmarks
