Job description

Bill Review Specialist - Responsible for reviewing, auditing, and data-entry of medical bills across multiple states and lines of business.

Work Schedule & Location

1. Fully remote position after a 1-2 week onsite training period. Equipment is provided. Must be commutable to Glen Allen, VA.
2. Training Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST. Initial training onsite for the first week.
3. Full-time schedule: Monday - Friday, with shifts from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST. Flexibility to choose a consistent shift.

Responsibilities

• Audit medical bills to ensure compliance with State Fee Schedules, customer guidelines, and PPO discounts.
• Utilize knowledge of Fee Schedules and operate computer terminals effectively.
• Consult reference materials as needed during audits.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations, including the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of medical terminology, workers' compensation billing guidelines, and fee schedules.
• Familiarity with CPT/ICD/HCPCS coding.
• Knowledge of UBO4/DWC-9/DWC-10 forms and CMS 1500 forms is preferred.
• Strong computer and typing skills; 10,000+ keystrokes per hour preferred.
• Ability to identify problems and develop effective solutions.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Compensation & Benefits

The pay range is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility for benefits depends on job classification and employment length, and may include:
