Job summary

Fortuna is hiring a full-time Medi-Cal Call Center Agent to support members in a high-volume inbound environment. This is a phone-based role, with training delivered remotely for four weeks and a requirement to reside within 30 miles of Sacramento, CA. A 30 WPM typing test with 95% accuracy is required.

The position offers a remote worksite with standard hours (Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.), and compensation of $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Six months of recent, high-volume inbound call center experience.
• Minimum six months of healthcare experience (health insurance, Medi-Cal, or related).
• Typing speed of at least 30 WPM with 95% accuracy.
• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to navigate multiple applications and browsers while on calls.

Responsibilities

• Handle a continuous volume of inbound Medi-Cal member calls.
• Respond to questions accurately and professionally.
• Document every interaction clearly and accurately.
• Follow scripts, verification requirements, and escalation protocols.
• Protect confidential member information and privacy requirements.
• Meet KPIs for average handle time, attendance, and call quality.
