Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a MECM Engineer to enhance enterprise Windows endpoint management and automation for a high-visibility DoD modernization program. The role is remote with the ability to report onsite at Norfolk, VA on short notice.

The engineer will design MECM infrastructure, automate deployments and patching, monitor health with Splunk, and drive CI/CD workflows while maintaining RMF and STIG compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting MECM/SCCM environments.
• Experience managing Windows endpoint infrastructure, OS deployments, software distribution, patch management, and compliance baselines.
• Hands-on scripting with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience integrating MECM with Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, and modern endpoint management technologies.
• Knowledge of enterprise monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk.
• Experience with DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies including Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, or similar automation platforms.
• Understanding of networking concepts supporting enterprise endpoint management, including Distribution Points, PXE services, and boundary groups.
• Experience working within Agile, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or DevSecOps environments is highly preferred
• Active Secret Clearance
• IAT Level II certification

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale MECM infrastructure for Windows endpoint management.
• Automate endpoint management processes, software deployments, OS deployments, patching, and configuration management using PowerShell, Python, and IaC tools.
• Monitor system health and performance using Splunk and observability platforms to proactively remediate issues.
• Develop and enhance automated CI/CD workflows for infrastructure deployment, testing, and improvements.
• Build and execute automated performance, stress, and failure testing to validate reliability and scalability.
• Troubleshoot MECM client and server issues while optimizing endpoint performance and availability.
• Integrate MECM with cloud-based technologies including Intune, Azure AD, and Windows Update for Business.
• Collaborate with software engineers, SREs, and operations teams to improve automation, monitoring, and reliability.
• Support Agile and DevSecOps initiatives with automation and config management.
• Maintain compliance with DoD RMF, DISA STIGs, and security standards.
