Overview




Our Federal Services Group is seeking a Mid/Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team. Responsibilities of this role include preparing error-free engineering documents, maintaining relevant knowledge of industry codes and standards, building strong client relationships and producing high quality engineering deliverables. The Federal Services group provides engineering services (HVAC, hydraulic, piping system designs, etc.) for our Department of Energy (DOE) facilities. The work involves designing mechanical systems in support of our country's nuclear stockpile, environmental cleanup and storage of radiological waste, and the development of the next generation of nuclear power.

Qualifications




  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with design of mechanical systems for mid level engineer
  • Experience working on DOE federal projects
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of mechanical calculations
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Good writing, presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks if needed
  • Thermal-hydraulic and design modification experienced desired
  • Relevant energy system design experience (e.g., HVAC, Hydraulic, Piping) preferred
  • Professional Engineering license required
  • Software experience (AFT FATHOM / ARROW / IMPULSE, AutoPipe, HVAC Heat Load / Air Flow) preferred
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Salary Range

The salary range for this full-time position is below. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
