Knik Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Caterpillar equipment, asphalt paving equipment, and rock-crushing plants across remote Alaska project sites.

This seasonal role requires travel and living on-site at remote locations with long hours and overtime during the construction season. Pay ranges from $55 to $82 per hour depending on experience and project scope.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (AA) or two years of related experience and training.
• Knowledge of parts books and parts ordering for heavy equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of heavy construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and mechanical systems, including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, and production machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubricating, and servicing equipment.
• Communicate with coworkers across various job sites to coordinate repairs and maintenance needs.
• Work closely with Superintendent to ensure equipment issues are addressed promptly.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation for shop and equipment needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
