Mercor, a San Francisco-based company connecting elite talent with AI research labs, seeks a Mathematics Research Collaborator (Part-time) to review papers, craft challenging mathematical problems, and help evaluate AI model outputs. This remote role is up to 20 hours per week under a contract.

You will collaborate with a small program team and senior contributors, bring a PhD or postdoc, and have publications in top journals. Compensation is $80–$110 per hour.

Qualifikationen

• First-author or sole-author publications in top-tier journals.
• Doctorate or postdoctoral training from a top-20 global institution.
• Fellowship or honor such as Clay Research Fellowship or NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.
• NSF CAREER award or comparable grant as PI/Co-I.
• Experience in active research roles as PhD candidate, postdoc, or faculty.

Aufgaben

• Review and evaluate research papers for correctness, novelty and rigor.
• Author and review challenging mathematics problems for training AI models.
• Evaluate model outputs on proof construction, formalization, conjecture exploration.
• Surface model failure areas and identify subtle errors.
• Collaborate with a small program team and other senior contributors.
