Cambium Assessment, Inc. is seeking an Item Writer II to develop new test items for client projects. The role involves item entry, group reviews, and applying edits from group sessions, with potential CR1 content reviews as experience grows.

The position emphasizes collaborating across teams, meeting deadlines, and working within a remote-first environment. Travel is required 1–8 weeks per year, in chunks of 2–5 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with 2–5 years’ math education experience, or Master’s degree with 0–3 years’ experience in math education-related fields.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to identify problems and conceptualize solutions.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; shift focus across multiple tasks.
• Collaborative work style and ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

• Use state specifications to develop content.
• Participate in group reviews, take notes, implement edits.
• Understand and implement scoring techniques for a range of item types.
• Implement post client/committee item edits, with direction.
