Job summary

Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company, is seeking Math 1 tutors to provide 1-on-1 online instruction using our Live Learning Platform. You will set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and help students reach their learning goals from your home.

Earn up to $40/hour, with payments issued up to twice per week. You’ll connect with students remotely, match to your teaching style, and leverage Tutor Copilot for real-time support to save prep time.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of linear equations, functions, systems of equations, and geometry.
• Ability to explain slope-intercept form and function notation to students.
• Familiar with Integrated Math 1 curricula and Common Core standards.
• Skilled at breaking down complex topics and using multiple teaching approaches.
• Able to adapt instruction to individual learning needs and styles.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions.
• Offer instant tutoring requests when available.
• Communicate clearly with students and adapt explanations as needed.
