LanguageLine Solutions LLC is seeking a Masalit Telephone Interpreter to work from home in the United States. This independent contractor role involves handling on-demand interpretation between Masalit and English speakers across multiple industries, without written translation duties.

Responsibilities include prompt interpretation, maintaining professionalism, and ensuring accurate conveyance of meaning while handling potentially emotional or complex calls.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Masalit and English with cultural awareness.
• Ability to assess regional and accent differences to communicate with LEP.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills for accurate interpretation.
• Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Background or drug screen may be required post-offer.
• Reading/writing of the requested languages is highly preferred.

Responsabilités

• Respond promptly to interpreting sessions and conduct interpretation professionally.
• Render correct concepts per established interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout sessions.
• Remain calm on emotional or emergency calls (e.g., 911).
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions to meet expectations while respecting LEP rights.
• Understand protocol across industries such as Medical, Insurance, Finance and Law.
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
• Handle highly emotional or long calls and adapt to high call volumes as needed.
