Job summary

Washington Penn seeks a capable professional to identify product requirements and drive technology development for polypropylene compounds. You will manage development activities, pursue new business, and collaborate with product development to meet customer needs.

The role requires strong plastics knowledge, excellent communication, and a drive to build long-term customer relationships while coordinating with OEMs and field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or equivalent, and/or 5-7 years of experience with custom plastic materials.
• Ability to leverage technical strength to develop new business.
• Ability to build and maintain strong, long term customer relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, and well organized.

Responsibilities

• Manage development activities for polyolefin compounded materials.
• Pursue new business opportunities through diligent customer and market development efforts.
• Identify strategic markets and customers; determine material requirements and specifications.
• Collaborate with WPP product development engineers to develop material solutions to meet customer needs.
• Interpret sample results and provide data sheets and other material information to customers.
• Coordinate and attend customer molding trials, providing feedback for future direction.
• Present a formalized data package of developed material(s) for customer approvals.
• Interface with customers and OEMs to achieve and document product approvals.
• Promote WPP products and capabilities effectively.
• Submit call reports and monthly activity summaries on customer-related activities.
• Provide timely responses to customer inquiries and complaints to ensure satisfaction.
• Perform all duties safely and in compliance with quality systems.
