Description

Summary:

Lender Finance originates both recourse and non-recourse transactions for commercial and consumer specialty finance companies. This line of business focuses on driving growth in revenue and assets for the bank, leading newly structured transactions as well as participating in other banks’ transactions.

The Managing Director, Originations – Lender Finance is responsible for originating new asset-backed opportunities through external networks and internal referrals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Originate new asset-backed opportunities through external networks and internal referrals, each subject to rigorous pre-screening and thorough underwriting.
  • Create term sheets with feedback from Transaction Management team members, working with Transaction Managers to manage underwriting requirements and protocols.
  • Responsible for all negotiations with the customer and working with outside counsel to manage all documentation requirements through closing.
  • Manage all new transaction processes from discovery through closing.
  • Drive Optimal Customer Relationship (OCR) through cross-selling related bank products (derivatives, deposits, cash management, etc.) and referring unrelated opportunities to other areas of the commercial bank (other credit-based products, insurance, wealth management, etc.).
  • Act as point person for all relationships within the originated/assigned portfolio.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients while ensuring actions are supported by the bank.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field
  • 10+ years' experience in commercial banking originating new asset-backed transactions
  • Strong understanding of credit concepts and collateral attributes including experience with financial modeling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred
  • 10+ years originating specialty finance opportunities
  • Understanding of rating agency securitization methodologies
  • Highly motivated with desire and ability to excel in a team and individual work environment
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong COI network

Exempt Status: Yes (not eligible for overtime pay)

Workplace Type: Remote

Compensation Range: $190,000 - $255,000 Annual Salary

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
