Overview

An employer is looking for a Mainframe DB2z DBA that will provide support on IBM Mainframes with the following responsibilities and tools support.

Responsibilities

• Executing DDL and DML requests for Application teams and business users in production, test, and development environments.
• Develop scripts (JCL, REXX) to manage, maintain, and provide reporting on vital database activities and execution of jobs.
• Replication setup to replicate data across different DB2 subsystems.
• Database and SQL performance monitoring – techniques for tablespace and index optimization, Omegamon for Db2 and Query Monitor.
• Review of Db2 package access paths, hints.
• Working knowledge of Db2 utilities.
• Analysis of data growth, capacity planning and maintenance activities.
• Building and implementing database backup and recovery strategies.
• Setting up tables and data synchronization in IDAA.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.
• Designing, developing, implementing, and providing operation support of database security.
• Preparing disaster recovery (DR) documentation and participating in DR activities to ensure database recovery at the DR site is within set Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
• Automation of routine tasks.
• Planning and execution of Db2 software upgrade activities.

• IDAA (analytics accelerator) Zowe plug in.
• Administration foundation for DB2, IDMS, and ServiceNow.
