Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a Remote Loan Servicing Quality Assurance Analyst to apply analytical and testing skills to ensure compliance with internal policies and federal/state regulations. The role covers life-of-loan processes with an approved target pay range of $27.00–$29.00.

Responsibilities include assessing remediation plans, conducting testing, documenting procedures, and communicating results to servicing units.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Three or more years’ experience in mortgage/loan servicing.
  • Two or more years’ experience with quality data analysis, testing and reporting.
  • Familiarity with mortgage industry terminology and servicing timelines.
  • Experience using Loan Servicing technology to research, validate and obtain information.
  • Proficient in MS Office with basic Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, collaboration and technical skills.
  • Good time management and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Complete thorough assessment of document provisioning/remediation plans and identify clarifications.
  • Evaluate remediation plans from servicing units for compliance adequacy.
  • Create and maintain process and procedure documentation per policy.
  • Conduct testing for low/medium risk findings and ensure timely remediation.
  • Identify exceptions and notify management of out-of-scope observations.
  • Obtain testing approvals as documented by procedures or management direction.
  • Perform loan data analysis and communicate results to servicing units.
  • Conduct recurring testing and report findings.
  • Research findings, propose responses, and secure approvals for modifications.
  • Utilize SharePoint and systems to track assignments and update status.
  • Escalate risk concerns and maintain data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Follow department procedures for shared mailbox usage.
  • Perform assigned compliance testing and escalate concerns promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Loan Servicing Quality Assurance Analyst position will be responsible for applying proven analytical, problem-solving, and testing/validation skills to ensure CMS's loan servicing business units are in compliance with all internal policies and procedures, adhering to federal, state, local and governmental regulatory requirements, and investor/product specific guidelines. Testing conducted may encompass life of loan processes. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, investor guidelines, and all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. The approved Target Pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00.

What you’ll do:
  • Complete a thorough assessment of document provisioning and/or remediation plans assigned and identify items that require clarification.
  • Evaluate process remediations received from servicing business units and determine if plan is sufficient to ensure compliance.
  • Create and maintain documentation of processes, reports, applications, and procedures as per department policy.
  • Conduct testing for internal and external low/medium risk findings to ensure successful plan implementation of resolution and that finding is remediated. Testing must be conducted accurately and in accordance with established testing timelines and standards.
  • Identify exception based on testing performed and notify department management of any observations that are outside of the testing scope but require action.
  • Obtain approval of testing as documented by department procedure or at the direction of management.
  • Perform loan data analysis to validate and communicate test results to servicing business unit as outlined by department management.
  • Perform recurring testing as assigned.
  • Research external or internal findings, propose initial response(s) to business units, obtain approval if modifications are made to business unit responses ensuring responses are submitted timely to internal and external parties.
  • Utilize SharePoint and other systems to track all assignments and update the status accordingly.
  • Escalate issues of risk concern to management and maintain appropriate data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Follow department procedures for shared mailbox use.
  • Perform assigned compliance testing as assigned and promptly elevate compliance concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need:
  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in mortgage/loan servicing.
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience with quality data analysis, testing and reporting.
  • Knowledge of mortgage industry terminology, including knowledge of prominent general servicing and default timelines
  • Knowledge of utilizing Loan Servicing technology to research, validate and obtain information.
  • Proficient in MS Office with basic skills in Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, collaboration and technical skills.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changes and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and communicate routine, factual information.
  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
