REMOTE Loan Processor- Exception Handling

TEKsystems is currently supporting our mortgage client hiring for experienced loan processors in their exception handling department. This position is 100% remote and will be a direct placement opportunity. Applicants with 3+ years of mortgage processing experience supporting various loan types are encouraged to apply.

The Customer Advocate, Exception Handling is responsible for processing loan applications in compliance with mortgage lending and applicable investor guidelines. Performs duties such as analyzing the loan application, assessing creditworthiness and the likelihood that a loan applicant will be able to repay the debt, analyzing the AUS/Guidelines as they pertain to the loan product and sales structure, reviewing title commitments and fees, ordering subordinations and allocating fees properly in the system.

Responsibilities include:

  • Primary customer contact, and may act as liaison between the borrower, underwriter and loan advisor.
  • Providing periodic status updates, and timely return all incoming inquiry calls.
  • Noting all communication and statuses in the Loan Operating System.
  • Contacting the borrower(s) for all outstanding documents needed.
  • Validating the 1003 loan application for completion and accuracy.
  • Completing various Processing Checklists to confirm documentation requested was received and loan is ready to go back to Underwriting for final approval.
  • Escalating loans through proper channels if a loan no longer qualifies or a restructure is needed.
  • Requesting, following up and obtaining items from 3rd parties as needed.
  • Running AUS engine (DU/LP) to confirm a loan is successfully scoring and qualifies for selected product.

Requirements include:

  • High School diploma.
  • 3+ years of experience doing work with FHA, VA, and conventional loans.
  • 3+ years of loan processing experience.
  • Experience with re-finance and full purchase loans.
  • Manage a pipeline of 40+ loans.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Microsoft office.

The pay range for this position is $52,000.00 - $52,000.00/yr. Full health benefits and 401K are offered. This is a fully remote position with a Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm schedule.
