Job summary

Munich Re is seeking an experienced underwriting professional for facultative life reinsurance in a remote US-based role. You will independently underwrite complex medical, nonmedical, and financial risks while delivering high quality decisions and maintaining thorough documentation.

Reporting to the 2nd VP, Underwriting Services, you will influence client outcomes, collaborate across teams, and proudly represent Munich Re in the market with strong judgment and industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; life underwriting experience required.
• 8+ years of life underwriting experience; reinsurance underwriting preferred.
• Industry designations (ALMI, FLMI, AALU, FALU, CLU) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and underwriting processes.

Responsibilities

• Independently underwrite facultative life reinsurance cases with sound judgment.
• Provide timely, high quality underwriting decisions with clear rationale.
• Collaborate with clients and internal partners to support competitive outcomes.
• Represent Munich Re professionally through client interactions and industry engagement.
• Co-sign cases for team members.
