Job summary

Confidant Care Consultants seeks a licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our Ontario, CA-based outpatient team in a full-time remote capacity. You will assess mood disorders, craft tailored treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapies to adults, including CBT and DBT.

Collaborating with psychiatrists and other clinicians, you will monitor progress, educate clients and families, document thoroughly, and engage in ongoing professional development to stay at the forefront of mood

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, MFT, psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current California LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT license.
• Proficiency in CBT and DBT with mood disorders.
• Understanding of psychopharmacology for clinical collaboration.
• Excellent communication for diverse clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine mood disorder severity and duration using standardized tools and clinical interviews.
• Design individualized treatment plans in partnership with clients.
• Deliver evidence-based therapies such as CBT and DBT tailored to mood disorders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the severity and duration of clients' mood disorder symptoms, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
• Design individualized treatment plans in partnership with clients, incorporating their personal goals and preferences, reinforcing their involvement in the therapeutic process.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) tailored specifically for mood disorders.
• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, effective treatment strategies, and self-care techniques to empower them in managing their mental health.
• Regularly monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, ensuring comprehensive treatment approaches that meet the needs of each client.
• Stay current with emerging research in mood disorder treatment methodologies and participate in continuing education to refine clinical skills.
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines for all client interactions and treatment plans.
• Engage in team meetings and case consultations to share insights and strategies for effective client care.
• Advocate for clients both within and outside the practice, contributing to the de-stigmatization of mental health issues and facilitating access to necessary resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be individuals experiencing mood disorders. This population often includes adults facing challenges related to significant life changes, anxiety, depression, and other related mental health conditions. You will employ a compassionate, culturally competent approach, understanding the diverse backgrounds and experiences of each client.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
• Proficiency in utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities, especially CBT and DBT, demonstrating a strong background in treating mood disorders.
• Sound understanding of psychopharmacology to effectively collaborate with medical professionals.
• Demonstrated success in delivering positive patient outcomes, highlighting your ability to engage clients in their treatment processes.
• Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective rapport-building with clients from diverse communities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in an outpatient mental health setting, preferably within a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated involvement in professional development activities and training specific to mood disorder treatment.
• Familiarity with documentation and compliance standards pertinent to the mental health field.
